The Fair Association has over 400 members that meet annually on the third Wednesday in November. At the annual meeting reports from the previous year are given by committee chairpersons and the financial statements are reviewed. The election of officers (2) and directors (3) takes place at the annual meeting.
The fair association puts on the annual Rock County 4-H Fair. The Rock County Fair Association is the sole supporter of the fair. No financial support comes from the County of Rock .
How do you become a member of the Rock County 4-H Fair Association?
Application for membership is made by signing the register at the Rock County 4-H Fair Office. To be eligible to vote at the annual meeting of the members, such member must have signed the register sixty (60) days prior to the meeting date and be accepted for membership at the beginning of such meeting.
How do you become a fair board officer or director and what is their role?
A member, in order to be elected as an officer or as a director, must be a member of the association for at least one(1) year prior to such election. There are 13 members on the fair board, 4 officers and 9 directors. Directors serve a 3 year term and are eligible to serve 2 terms. Officers serve a 2 year term and do not have a term limit.
The officers and board of directors develop policies, procedures and regulations for the operation of the Rock County 4-H Fair and monitor finances of the organization, it programs and performances.
Fair board members attend the monthly meeting held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month. Attend standing committee meetings, attend district meetings and the Wisconsin Association of Fairs convention in January in the WI Dells. As well as attend and participate in special events as needed.
2024 Annual Meeting
The annual meeting of the Rock County 4-H Fair Association will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. in the Craig Center at the Rock County 4-H Fairgrounds. Business will include the election of President, Secretary and three Directors.
The annual meeting provides an opportunity for association members to share ideas, suggestions and concerns. The Board of Directors values and needs your input for the continued success of the Rock County 4-H Fair. We hope you will mark your calendars and plan to attend this year’s annual meeting.
